Booster seat basics: How to tell if your seat will fit your vehicle
Booster seats come in all different shapes and sizes, so how do you know if the one you want will fit? Here’s our guide to Diono Booster Seats: The Perfect Fit.
Okay, your kiddo has outgrown their five-point harness car seat by either the height or weight limit and it’s time to graduate to a booster seat. Now all the fun of shopping can start, right? Right! But hold on! Before you go ahead with the booster you’ve set your sights on, you’ve gotta ask yourself “will it fit in my vehicle?”
This sounds silly, but it’s actually a very common mistake made by parents and caregivers. Just like any other car seat, booster seats come in a whole range of different shapes and sizes. You’ll need to carefully consider if the booster you want is right for you and your child, how much space you have in the back of your vehicle, and whether you need multiple seats.
The good news? We’ve made it easy! We’ve measured the full dimensions of each Diono booster seat so you can figure out if it’s the perfect fit for you.
Top tips to remember!
High back boosters might not be compatible with your vehicle depending on the headrests of the back seat. Diono requires that the booster headrest be supported by either the vehicle headrest or the vehicle seat back.
If you need multiple boosters, consider the space between seats and whether you will ever have additional passengers travelling in the back seat.
Seat belt locations also play and important role in booster seat compatibility. If at all possible, try before you buy!
